I haven’t tried anything new from Liz Earle for a long time but whenever I hear about them, Cleanse and Polish comes to mind. When I heard they launched a cleansing balm, I had to try it. Here’s the lowdown on Liz Earle Superskin Advanced Nourishing Cleansing Balm.

- Removes all traces of makeup and impurities
- Work to visibly plump and nourish the skin
- Uses a plant based alternative to collagen to boost elasticity
- Instantly hydrates and illuminates the skin
- Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive
Key Ingredients
POMEGRANATE EXTRACT – strong antioxidant, toning and firming properties
CRANBERRY SEED OIL – rich in essential fatty acids and vitamin E, helps improve moisture retention
ACACIA TREE EXTRACT – plant based alternative to collagen that works to firm, plump and moisturise the skin
ROSEHIP SEED OIL – rich in essential fatty acids, works to enhance barrier function and improve moisture retention
How to use it
You can use this like a regular cleansing balm. You just scoop out a small amount and warm it between your fingers before massaging it over the face. You can add a splash of water to emulsify, then use a damp wash cloth (it comes with one) to remove everything.
My Review
I am a sucker for a cleansing balm so I was really looking forward to trying this. First off, it smells amazing. As soon as you start to melt the balm between your fingers, the aroma wafts up towards you and it’s just gorgeous.
The texture is a fairly solid balm (it kind of reminds me of Sunday Riley Blue Moon*) and it melts down into an oil easily upon contact with your fingers, and then massages effortlessly over the skin.
It feels super soft and nourishing while it melts off makeup. I add a little bit of water to turn it into a milk and use a wash cloth to remove it. The cloth it comes with is really nice. It’s a flannel type cloth rather than a muslin cloth, which I find interesting as Liz Earle is the brand that made muslins famous. I still have millions of them from my Cleanse and Polish days!
The Liz Earle Superskin Advanced Nourishing Cleansing Balm leaves my skin feeling clean, soft and smooth, and I love that it has ingredients to help stimulate collagen and elastin. I always appreciate a multi-tasker.
All in all, this is a gorgeous cleansing balm and I’m left wondering why it has taken the Liz Earle brand so long to create one! I’m very happy to have this in my line up.
